Another Summer draws to a Close…..Goodbye North Devon, Hello Cornwall

G’day you lovely lot. Hope this post finds you all safe and well and not feeling too bereft now that Summer is on its way out. To be honest, we are still clinging on to the last dregs of sunshine here in the south west. The temperatures are still up there and the sea remains warm. Not bad for October! It will of course all turn to poop once we change the clocks. We have made the decision not to leave UK this Winter so we are bracing ourselves. Hoping we don’t regret it!!

We’ve had an incredible Summer season, working once again at Warcombe Farm in North Devon. It’s a beautiful campsite nestled between Woolacombe and Ilfracombe, right on the coastal path. Do try it if you’re in the area. The facilities are top drawer. Prices are great out of season and discounts given for over 60s or camping club members. The sea view pitches enjoy the most amazing sunsets. Ideal for our Motorhoming buddies. Check out their Facebook page. I’ve been doing the social media and photography this year. Anyhoo, we said cheerio to our friends there at the end of last week. It’s been a blast. Being able to nip to the beach before and after work is quite a perk to any job! The lovely Devonish market towns of Bideford and Barnstaple offer a good bit of retail therapy when needed or you can hop on a train and take the scenic route to the picturesque City of Exeter. That’s a great day out. Excellent shopping ladies! You’re only a hop skip and jump from Exmoor too. Lynton and Lynmouth, Porlock, Dunster and Dulverton. Our days off have been easily filled. It’s certainly an area with plenty going on around. A spectacular coastline too. Enjoy a fish and chip supper on the sands at Saunton watching the sun go down or sitting on the harbour at Ilfracombe. We’ve really enjoyed our time and tried to make the most of every spare minute. Loved it all. Caught up with the fam for a couple of brief visits which was very special.

Time now to move on. A new adventure awaits!! We are off on holiday first though! Whoop whoop! Trading our four wheels (well six actually!!) for bricks and mortar for a while. Back to our all time favourite haunt. The house on the beach in Cornwall. Du Maurier country. Fresh air, plenty of seafood and daily swims. G and Ts with a sea view from the bottom of our garden. Just idyllic. The kids will be joining us for a while to celebrate Marks 60th birthday. How exciting!! Will try not to leave it too long before I post again. Watch this space. On that note I shall bid you a fond farewell. My wine is going warm! That will never do! Sending you all lots and lots of love from sunny Fowey. Catch up soon guys. Mwah! ❤️
